Eating a leisurely Italian meal is one of the pleasures of travelling in Italy! Italians take food very seriously. The suggested local restaurants and shops will help you get the most out of your stay.

Local restaurants and shops Village restaurant There is a restaurant in the village.. Recently opened, after extensive refurbishment it serves locally produced traditional regional food. Closed on Monday

Molin Della Volpe At the bottom of the hill. Excellent and very inexpensive. Try the lunch set menu - very good value for money. The evenings are very busy and you will need to book at the weekends. Closed on Wednesdays

La Tana On the left hand side of the road on the way to Diecimo. A bottle of local wine will set you back 4 Euro! Food very good

Il Guerriero in Vetriamo. Vetriamo is a turning of up the hill, again on the road towards Diecimo. The road takes you up for about 5 minutes and the restaurant is on the right.Closed on Mondays

Pizzeria in Diecimo - Small place behind the bank - excellent set lunch menu which includes wine. Very good value for money

Valentinos in Fiano - Another very good place to eat. We had a set Sunday lunch with wine - 8 courses I think we counted - 18 Euros a head. Took about 3 hours!

Food Shopping

Diecimo is opening up quite alot now and boasts a Bank, Bakers, Deli, Pastereria, where you can stop for a coffee and sample one of their cakes. You can also take away of course, an internet cafe, and more shops are under development. For the larger items, Esselunga in Marlia (supermarket). Marlia is on the way to Lucca and situated at the junction of the road where the road crosses the river.

There is bread van that brings fresh bread up to the village 3 times a week, Mon, Wed, Fri and arrives at the bottom of the ramp at 10.15'ish.
